Waterproof jewelry questions

Can I shower with waterproof jewelry?
Yes. Gold-plated stainless steel handles showering, washing your hands and sweating during a workout. Rinse the piece in clean water afterwards and dry it with a soft cloth so no water sits in the clasp.
Is waterproof jewelry safe in the pool or the ocean?
Chlorine and salt water are the two hardest things on any plated finish. The piece will not rust, but repeated exposure dulls the gold layer over time, so we recommend taking it off before swimming.
Will it turn my skin green?
No. Green marks come from copper and brass reacting with skin. A stainless steel core does not react that way, which also makes these pieces a good choice for sensitive skin.
Which pieces are not waterproof?
Anything with freshwater pearl or mother-of-pearl. Those stones are porous and should stay dry — see our jewelry care guide for how to look after them.
